Game Overview

Gem Collector is a strategic game where players compete to become the best Gem Collector. Gather gems to buy Honor Cards, which grant you Honors (gem buying power). Accumulate Honors to acquire Treasures and earn prestige points. The first player to reach 15 prestige points triggers the final round, and the player with the most points wins!

Game Rules

Objective

Be the first player to reach 15 prestige points.

Actions (One Per Turn)

1. Take Gems: Take 3 different colored gems OR 2 gems of the same color (if 4+ available)
2. Buy an Honor Card: Purchase a visible card using gems (your Honors count as permanent gem buying power)
3. Reserve a Card: Reserve a card for later purchase and receive 1 gold token

Honor Cards

• Tier 3: Entry-level cards with low costs (easy)
• Tier 2: Medium difficulty cards
• Tier 1: Prestigious cards with high costs and rewards (hard)
• Each card provides you with Honor (gem buying power) and prestige points

Treasures

• Treasures are acquired by players who have the required Honors
• Each Treasure is worth 3 prestige points
• Automatically awarded when Honor requirements are met

Gem Types

• White (Diamond)
• Orange (Amber)
• Green (Emerald)
• Purple (Amethyst)
• Black (Onyx)
• Gold (Wild card - obtained by reserving cards)

How to Play

1. Launch the app on your Android device
2. From the welcome screen:
   • Tap "Start New Game" to begin with default settings
   • Tap "Settings" to configure card specifications
3. On your turn:
   • Select a card by tapping it (see animated glow effect)
   • Choose an action: Take Gems, Buy Card, or Reserve Card
   • Use the menu button (☰) to pause, restart, or exit
4. Watch the AI players take their turns
5. First to 15 prestige points wins!

Game Controls

• Menu Button (☰): Access pause menu with Resume, Restart, Main Menu, and Exit options
• Back Button: Same as menu button - pause the game
• Settings: Configure min/max scores and card counts for each tier

AI Strategy

The AI players use an effective strategy:

1. Buy affordable cards (prioritizing higher tier cards)
2. Take gems strategically based on card costs
3. Reserve valuable cards when unable to purchase
4. Automatically adapts to game state
